Police authorities need their hi-fi gadgets to catch the baddies, protect the innocent and keep the streets safe for those who fall into both categories. The Chinese police may soon become chic with their very own special cell phones made especially for them.

The QiGi Future Technology’s AK007 cell phone does look like a black version of the Turtlecom devices most kids are fond of playing with, but these cell phones would obviously work much better. The cell phones have a 2.8 inch display with 320×240 resolution and 2 megapixel camera along with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. The phone receives at four bands (850/900/1800/1900MHz) with GSM telephony making the radios of yesterday obsolete. Additionally, the cell phones also have GPS technology because it could get pretty embarrassing when you get lost and can’t tell your superiors where you are when you’re on a chase.

Furthermore, the cell phones will be compatible with Windows Mobile 6.1. The phone has POLICE stamped on it up front and the designs at the side which gives it the Turlecom-like appearance is for damage resistance. The use of the AK007 hasn’t been confirmed yet.
