Most minority people are born with the expression, which goes as “Beside myself in anger”. A child wants to be left alone but at the same time needs attention. He/she needs to love and be loved but experiences extraordinary amounts of hatred and anger.These are again signs of a Borderline individual who goes through tremendous mounts of angst and depression. If only the society were a little accepting, they would have been in a better position.
This ambivalence is what characterizes a BPD person’s behavior. Always seeking to be defined by people around them, BPD sufferers feel neglected, angry and thus seek solace in promiscuous sex soon as they hit puberty. In fact, most Borderline Personality Disordered children are known to be homosexuals. However, the reason for a strong correlation between homosexuality and Borderline Personality has not yet been studied properly.
It is perhaps because gay people usually are ignored or feel alienated with a predominantly heterosexual and patriarchal society, causing them to feel alienated. Until the attitudes of the society and people in general towards gay people changes, one cannot expect the correlation to drop. Also, BPD is seen increasingly among immigrants and marginalized groups of the society. Crime among BPD is different from crime among Psychopaths.
