A lot has been said about the ill effects of gaming and its terrible consequences. Whenever we see a rise in violence in the society, it is automatically blamed on violent video games. Lately, Noel Gallagher blamed video games for making children and adolescents violent and full of rage. Now, people are blaming video games for causing a lot of power outage. Apparently, if all the power that consoles across America were put together, then that would be enough to light the city of San Diego for a year.
Apparently, the video games consume 16 billion kilowatt-hours per year. Though the scenario looks scary and unpleasant it might be possible to save power by way of using smart power management and by just turning of the console before going to bed. Perhaps, gamers must take responsibility for all the power shortage that playing video games can cause.
In my opinion, video games are not the problem, but the way people use gaming consoles and misusing them lead to high power consumption that can’t be justified. I am sure gaming fans will already be fuming and clenching their teeth in anger.
