Footballer Thierry Henry has really enjoyed taking this power shot for the latest Reebok Campaign. The spot shows FC Barcelona striker wearing powerful Reebok Valde shoes and his power shot sets a car on fire. This typical Hollywood style stunt is full of fire and special effects. This must be one of the most explosive advertisements of Reebok.

The Valde campaign has been designed by M & C Saatchi Sports and Entertainment. In Thierry Henry’s own words the shoot itself was like being on a set of an action film. Well, to show real power of Power Unit boot technology special effects are needed. But showing a boot kicked football exploding a car is going a bit too overboard. The enhanced power of the shot needn’t had to be unrealistic in a realistic ‘Play Responsibly’ campaign.

Nevertheless it is a different kind of ad campaign. The focus is more on the power of the boot rather than the design. Thierry Henry also gave away Reebok Valde shoes to amateur footballers who had won European-wide competition on the sets of the shoot. So Reebok Valde is more about kicking the football rather than exploding cars!!
