Finally Android 2 is here

After leaking the pictures of the new version of the operating system for mobile devices from Google, now it was time for official “leaking” information.

Google announced the SDK Kit (Software Development) for the Android version 2.0, codenamed Eclair, and along with it some new features were discovered. Not only that, apparently on November 6 will be released Droid and Droid Eris by Verizon Wireless.

Here are the main highlights of the Android 2.0:

• Multi-touch Interface!
• Sync to multiple email accounts, including Exchange and contacts. But there in the fine print: “The device manufacturers can choose whether or not include support for Exchange on their devices” …
• A mailbox e-mails combining all accounts.
• Developers can create synchronization adapters for additional sources of data.
• Ability to send email, SMS or make a call to a contact by tapping his photo. Called Quick Contact, this widget can reside in multiple applications such as email, messaging and calendar.
• Improved camera controls, with digital zoom, scene mode, control of white balance, color effects, and macro.
• A redesigned layout of the virtual keyboard, providing faster and more accurate typing. In the words of Google, “the multi-touch support ensures that keystrokes are not lost when typing fast with two fingers.”
• A smarter dictionary, learning as the device is used and automatically suggests contact names.
• Bluetooh 2.1 with OPP (Object Push Profile) and PBAP (Phone Book Access Profile).
• Search for all SMS and MMS, as well as auto-deletion of older messages in a conversation when a pre-set limit is reached.
• redesigned interface with improved search and navigation, and bookmarks with thumbnails, support HTML5 and zoom with dual-touch (like iPhone).
