The domain of print media, especially the newspapers have taken a terrible hit in the last few years especially with the emergence of vast social networks and other news media outlets that have gripped the internet and literally shunned out the newspaper community into offline obscurity.
However, the search giant Google understands the importance of new papers and their value in our society and thus in collaboration with the New York Times and the Washington Post has announced the launch of an all new service called, Living Stories. The all new service has been introduced via Google Labs and is dedicate towards providing breaking news. The current alliance between Google and the two major American newspapers could very well be extended to other publications as well, provided, Living Stories does well.
The home page of Living Stories combines storied about various topics that range from governments, business to technology and are plucked from New York Times and the Washington Post. The links to the news posts take the users to the specific articles that are rich with multimedia content inclusive of a timeline and furthermore Living Stories break down the new stories into specific categories to provide comprehensive data to the users to better the understand the intricacies of a particular story.
