RM Auctions To Put Legendary Ferrari, Bugatti & Jaguar Cars For Auction

One of the most prominent auction houses, RM Auctions has announced a slated auction of some of the most gorgeous vintage cars, marking the 25th anniversary of Monterey’s first and original auction. This incredible auction termed, Sports & Classics of Monterey sale will be featuring more than 200 vehicles and the auction expects about 16 of these vintage cars to go for more than a million dollars.

The Sports & Classic of Monterey auction is scheduled for August12, 2010 to August 14, 2010 and one of the highlights of the event is the emergence of a 1931 Bugatti Type 51. This remarkable vehicle has been confirmed by recently discovered documents to have a glorious racing history and had participated in at Targa Florio in the early 30’s, along with the ARCA USA Grand Prix in 1935, with McClure Halley as the designated driver. The Type 51 carries a chassis number, 51132 and is believed to be an astounding addition to avid car collectors. Another vintage automobile set for auction at the event is, 1955 Jaguar D-Type, XKD558, that is considered to be one of the most desirable vehicles of all time and is expected to fetch $2 million to $2.5 million. The Jaguar D-Type comes from a significant Jaguar collection of Kathy Nell.

This up scale event will also be auctioning off 1903 Ford Model A Rear Entrance Tonneau, which is said to be the one of the earliest Ford models and is going to be the highlight of the Ford category at the auction, with an estimated sell off price of $600,000 to $800,000
