The robots form the armies of the future and depending on its nature, will be configured to do the “dirty work”, said Peter Singer, an expert on military issues, speaking at the Hall of Technology, Entertainment and Design (TED) in Long Beach, California on Wednesday (4).

Singer said that at the same time the use of robots in battle to save lives of military personnel, will also solidify the character of war, because machines are used without emotions, responsible for doing the dirty work of a soldier. The specialist said that U.S. military units will be half human and part machine by 2015.

The U.S. army has recruited soldiers of war using a video game specialist. Some control of weapons of true copy designs of commands for popular games consoles. Moreover, aircraft carriers and robots pumps are common on the battlefield.

“The United States is ahead of military robotics, but that technology is not a unique advantage. We have Russia, China, Pakistan and Iran working on military robots,” informed.

But the analyst, member of the research team of military Brookings Institute, questioned somethings as the fact that the hardware is manufactured in China and the software in India.

According to the expert, terrorism can also make use of robots, which raises a “worrying” question. “There is no need to convince a robot to explode saying he has 72 virgins when they die and get to Heaven,” he said.
