Romantik Hotel Muottas Muragl Wins Series of Awards for Conservation

Romantik Hotel Muottas Muragl has adopted the concept of ground breaking energy, i.e. excess of solar energy will be stored through thermal loops in the ground to generate geothermal mass. The building of Berghotel which is one hundred and four year old was renovated extensively to transform the location into environmental friendly hotel in Alps. This is first plus-energy luxury hotel to establish at 8,058 feet above sea level. High-end luxury hotel comforts can be provided by implementing plus energy concept. The renovation and expansion of Berghotel consumed overall energy of thirty six percent, in other words there was sixty four percent of energy reduction which resulted in the drop  from 436,000 kWh/a to 157,400 kWh/a. The entire functioning of electricity of household will be provided by solar energy.
