Rorschach Inkblot Test is sometimes used to diagnose anxiety disorders as well, and the following case reveals how it could be done. In one case, Ms Bullock was presented to the clinic with symptoms of anxiety and her Rorschach protocol indicated that she was in touch with reality and she has given a few popular answers. She has adequate mentation and the protocol also indicates average productivity.
There was also emotional disturbance and difficulty in the areas of relationship. She may have had problems with her authoritative figure as revealed by the father card. Content analysis reveals high levels of anxiety. There is no fluctuating form level which shows she does not have schizophrenia. Since her Rorschach predominantly reveals anxiety, she could be given CBT, JPMR and psychotherapy.
She was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and advised to undergo Cognitive Behaviour therapy to reduce anxiety and psychotherapy to handle issues of fear and anxiety. When she could not make it to the clinic, counseling could done over the phone. The idea was to change her internalization and heavy reliance on ego defense mechanisms.
