If you combine two or three things together sometimes it becomes more useful in the eye of the consumer. That is why you have plenty of desk lamps with a charging dock for your iPod and iPhone in its base. The concept has been almost done to death. But Rotaliana, an Italian company that seems to specialize in lighting, has turned a simple product into art. They have worked on its looks as well and made it into a unique piece.

The Rotaliana Diva is made from polycarbonate and aluminum.  There’s an aluminum arm, hinged at the top that opens to expose a lamp with a 4.5W LED.  There’s a retracting docking station drawer (for iPod and iPhone) that has a digital screen that displays the time and other information. They don’t stop there but have added four high quality speakers and placed them inside the stand. The back has an AUX input for use with other audio equipment, audio-out ports to attach the Diva to external speakers, and a USB port to play music from a flash drive.

To top it all there is a remote to control every function, including the iPod and the radio. The Diva is available in white, black and dark grey and can be purchased directly from the Modern Nest website at a price of $992.
