We all know how terrible it has been to find a good source of fuel for our cars, and many governments encourage car-free days almost every week. In fact, there are cities where mayors have encouraged walk-to-work campaigns in order to cut down on the usage of cars and thus save fuel. Here is a rather intriguing piece of news which comes in the form of a rather retarded idea.

Apparently, the future of our cars could depend on firewood. That is, using firewood, biomass and other such products of the forest, we could drive our cars. It was noted in the 2010 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. They use firewood to convert it into electricity and the electricity would be used to drive cars.

I am not sure if this is green enough, but I think it could be researched upon after sometime and be standardized. There is no information about the price or if it would be available everywhere, but many Low-Tech magazines have been writing articles about it. Even the Swedish government and Volvo have been working on the technology as well.
