Fuel efficiency is the word today and companies have been vying to create the world’s most fuel efficient car ever. However, a group of students from Sakarya University in Turkey have created Europe’s most fuel efficient vehicle. The car called Sahimo is a hydrogen powered car and it requires only one litre of hydrogen for about 353 miles.

They are even planning to embark upon a mission in the outback of Australia and create a record of sorts by driving across the outback in just 3 litres o fuel. The car was not cheap to build and cost about $170,000. It is made of carbon fibre and weighs less than 110 Kilograms. It releases almost no emission and is perfect for today’s situation of depleting energy resources and rising greenhouse effect.

It would be good for the mankind if such projects are encouraged by governments and private sectors so that petrol drinking jalopies can be done away with. However, the car is still in the conceptual stage and much work needs to be done before it can be produced in a large scale.
