One of the foremost consumer electronics companies, Samsung, it seems is now gearing up for the launch of an all new Samsung Galaxy Tab device with 8.9 inch display screen at the upcoming CITA 2011 trade show. Moving on from the original Samsung Galaxy Tab, that was introduced in the year 2010, as a competitor to Apple iPad, in a recent media invite sent out to all pre-registered CTIA media, Samsung has hinted on to the release of three new Galaxy tab models featuring 7 inch, 8.9 inch and 10 inch displays respectively. As per invite image, Samsung has showed a number sequence ‘78910’, that is being widely interpreted as screen display dimensions for the new models.
Samsung’s very first Galaxy Tab featured a 7 inch display, so there would be nothing new in that arena, while at the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2011) in Barcelona, Spain, Samsung took the curtains off the all new Samsung 10.1 Galaxy Tab, featuring a 10.1 inch display. However, the invite does suggest introduction of an all new Galaxy Tab, featuring a 8.9 inch display and could just as easily be running the tablet specific Google Android 3.0 ‘Honeycomb’ OS. In today’s tablet war, Samsung and LG Electronics are two of the most fierce rivals. Though Samsung has edge in the competition with the previous Samsung Galaxy Tab, yet with the all new LG Optimus Pad, the consumers would now have a varied choice and can just as easily find out who out of the two has gotten the tablet scene just right. Just the LG Optimus Pad, the highly expected Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 could be powered by Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor.
