You need a pure heart to stand for a noble cause. But if you want to do it fashionably, then you must have an artistic bend like Kimberly McDonald. The eco-enthusiast recently launched her Ursus Maritimus (which is the scientific name for the plar bear) jewelry collection. As the name suggests, the designs are inspired by the melting polar caps.

For the uninitiated, McDonald is among the first few designers to use raw geodes in her creations, which, we think is a very cool way to represent the little ice caves. The designs feature small polar bears in these white diamond-ringed geodes.

Friends of McDonald’s reveal that 10% of each sale from the Ursus Maritimus collection will go to Conservation International. The designer believes that even if only a few people are willing to change their ways and do something good for the environment, it’s a significant step towards a greener future.
