The climactic changes and the economic slowdown will be the top issues to be addressed by the world for a while. But some biotech scientists have other important problems to tackle, which, by the way, are a result of the two global obstacles mentioned above. Yes, with the weather conditions going berserk and supporters of art trying to save a few bucks, it is feared that world art may go unprotected.
Researchers at UN University have found that most of the world’s cultural treasures have an organic base like paper, wood, canvas and leather. Now, these biodegradable substances in extreme weather conditions can attract fungus or even moisture, causing their subsequent decay. So, biotech scientists are busy trying to figure our desperate measures to confront the growing threats to art like the use of micro-organisms to remove fungus instead of chemicals.
In fact, the growing affiliation of scientists and curators has led us to believe that science and art do go hand in hand. After all, thanks to biotechnology, world art may soon find a full proof way of keeping safe.
