Seiko is perhaps the best known watchmaker outside of Switzerland. They had to work really hard to rise above the image of a watch maker producing large volume of inexpensive timepieces. The most recent effort in the same direction is the release of a series of limited edition Star War watches. It is incredible that even after so many years of the original Star War film its characters still inspire designers to create new time pieces that have their images and remind you of the great film. And since they are limited edition creations they have been priced relatively high at around $180,000 each.
The New Watches Released Under the Brights Seiko Brand
Compared to the Swiss luxury watch brands they might be called relatively inexpensive but even at this price point it is difficult to guess what kind of response the new designs will receive. The one which is dedicated to C-3PO looks cooler on the back than its face. It is hard to imagine that someone would like to pay that kind of price for the watch. If you wait for some time it could well become available at liquidation pricing. These watches are being released under the “Brights Seiko” brand and only 5,000 pieces of all the models put together will be produced. Darth Vader, Darth Maul, Stormtrooper, C-3PO, R2-D2 and Yoda’s character has been used as an inspiration and also as the motif.
The Luxury Watches Will be Released on October 12
The Darth Vader model is predictably all black. The watch with a Fix Solar Radio Drive system will be released on October 12 and only 1,500 pieces will be made available. Darth Maul is a character who appeared in the first episode of Star Wars. The watch is quite similar to the first model except that all the digits on the face of the watch is written in red. Storm Trooper who swore absolute loyalty to the Galactic Empire Army is behind the third model. It is the simplest and the cleanest design in the collection. Droid “R2-D2” continues to be loved by Star Wars fans. The model named after it allows you to enjoy scenes from Star Wars. The model named after Jedi master “Yoda” has the famous phrase inscribed on the back “May the Force be with you.”
