The highly anticipated 3D revolution that got kick started at the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is steadily gaining momentum as more and more big names in the field of home entertainment such as Sony etc. are now coming out with their own 3D televisions. One of the leading names in this field, Sharp Corporation has now unveiled its latest series of Quatron 3D TV Panels in Japan and as per reports, Sharp has plans in the works, that will enable the company to introduce 3D television with screen upto 60 inches, sporting its UV2A technology as well as active shutter glasses.
The Quatron 3D televisions are unique in their display technology as, these TVs project four colors, such as Red, Green, Blue and Yellow, thereby compiling the RGBY format, whereas the conventional televisions are only able to display the RGB format. Furthermore, as per Sharp, these new 3D televisions will be 80% brighter than conventional models. Sharp has already introduced the Quatron 3D television series in the U.S and with the launch in Japan, the company is expecting to reach to a much bigger user base. This all new 3D LCD TV will be available to the Japanese consumers before summer 2010 and the line will be called Aquos LCD TV and by the end of this year, Sharp plans to go global with the new 3D LCD TVs.
Sharp Corporation as of now is putting all its bets on the 3D revolution, which it says will expand to up to 10 million units across the globe by the year 2012.
