Shipping Container Maison by Bernard Morin and Joyce Labelle

For those who are interested in shipping container homes, here is one that might certainly impress you. This mansion like shipping container home is relatively bigger than many of the other similar houses. It is created by Bernard Morin and Joyce Labelle of Maison Idekit Home. Although this container home doesn’t look very great, it has its own charm of the old look.

Apparently, the containers are covered with 12 cm (5 inches) of urethane insulation and wooden cladding. However, in order to provide a stylish industrial touch, the interiors of the containers have been left with bare metal walls. This 280 square meter (3,000 square feet) house cost as much as $175,000 to build.

I somehow love this house for its originality and simplicity. Its lonely background adds up to the beauty of the house. If you are interested in buying a container home, Maison Idekit Home offers three container chalets approximately at $45K Canadian. It’s not a bad deal as it’s not always easy to acquire a container home. I can’t wait to buy one for myself very soon. It’s just so cool!
