Here is a shocking advertisement made for the Tamayo Museum for the Contemporary Arts in Mexico. The copy is strangely attention grabbing and with the hands that reach out from the brain, it suggests the museum seeks to “blow your mind” by shocking you with great contemporary art and also reach out to your mind’s need for something that is stimulating and also invigorating.

Another poster for the same museum shows a woman’s heart breaking free from her body. The poster suggests the shock she must have got while viewing the art pieces in the Tamayo museum. Most might say the ad is gruesome and obscenely attention grabbing, but that is exactly what ads must do, grab the attention. When it comes to advertise a contemporary art museum, it just has to be the right way!

The posters were created by the DraftFCB Mexico and surely is one of the more interesting posters I have seen till now. The absence of any copy is quite understandable, as the images are so gruesome and shocking, it hardly needs any copy to help the viewer understand the possible message: “COME VISIT OUR MUSEUM, YOUR MIND AND HEART WOULD BREAK FREE!”
