If you were wondering why everyone had to come in different shapes and sizes, you may not be the only one. A certain Mr. Hans Hemmert threw a party in which he requested all his guests to wear shoe extenders that would turn them all 6 feet and 7 inches tall, or 2 meters tall. While I am not sure what made him arrive at this idea, it sure seems like it was yet another way of showing what socialism does to people, in the quest of reaching equality.

While each of us is born differently, with different capabilities and different social positions, trying to make everyone stand at the same height and level would be akin to walking on these uncomfortable shoes. These shoes could be a metaphor to the flawed ideas of equality and classless societies.

While it does seem ideal to be in a classless society where everyone is equal to everyone else, it would become as cumbersome as these shoe extenders that the artist forced his guests to wear. Next time someone argues with you about communism, you could cite this artist’s shoe extenders example.
