Sidekick platform users were in for a big shock as the T-Mobile forum had uploaded news stating all the information and personal data stored on Sidekicks would be lost due to a server failure at Microsoft/Danger.

Further, people are being told that they should not switch off their Sidekicks and that there should be continuous power supply as whatever is on the Sidekick at the moment would be lost too, if the device is switched off. This has come as a severe blow to cloud computing and it is something that you would not even want to think about but is happening.

A recent update is that all Sidekicks have been taken off shelves and they are “temporarily out of stock”. They are apparently looking for solutions which might save any data possible but it certainly is not looking great at all. If you are a Sidekick user, please keep your device switched on till further information is available.
