Travelling is a time consuming and fatiguing process. Not only is it difficult taking care of every precious piece of property packed away in suitcases but getting the baggage through the security checks seems to takes years for ever impatient traveller.
Travellers need not worry so much anymore for a whole range of smart luggage options would soon be available for them. A project looking into the experience of travelling by Swedish air in an attempt to improve the experience has developed what they consider intelligent luggage. Developed in collaboration with SAS, the suitcases have been designed by Patrik Petersson. The ‘SAS Check In Center’ intelligent luggage is aimed mainly at reducing the total time spent at security baggage checking counters. The suitcases are fitted with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) chips to track and identify the owner. It also informs owners on the location and ETA of their baggage.
Apart from the tracking device, the suitcase is also ergonomic in design with different compartments, including a protected compartment for especially fragile items. Hopefully, this would be made available to not just Swedish travellers.
