China first demonstrated their conviction to control pollution and fog before Olympics by taking all kinds of measures right from shutting down polluting industries to keeping vehicles off the street. Now they have gone a step ahead and manipulated the very weather by seeding clouds by spraying chemicals. The result though was snowfall instead of rain. But nevertheless it is good news for a country on the brink of drought. But will weather manipulation become a new trend of the modern world?

There has been snowfall in China. People are happy. There are more tourists in the Forbidden City. Snowfall pictures are great. Yet the very thought that the whole snowfall was induced artificially by spraying chemicals makes the whole thing less magical. Climate change due global warming is a harshest reality of modern life. Eco-friendly sustainable way of life for green future is definitely trendier than trying out such bizarre experiment of cloud seeding. Weather parameters are highly unpredictable. These manipulations can lead to disastrous consequences.

Controlling and manipulating Nature is a biggest ambition of human mind. So, artificially induced snow should not come as a surprise to many. But seeding of clouds above Beijing with 500 silver iodide sticks that too using rocket launchers isn’t good news for Nature lovers!!!
