Well, the trend of running one of the most sought after operating systems in the world, Apple Macintosh X has finally landed in the Sony VAIO X world as well. Hackintosh, a term affectionately used for hacking into laptops to makes them run MAC OS X has been in the computing world, since the day, a hacker bragged about installing Apple’s OS on a notebook running Microsoft Windows operating system.

Now the process of Hackintoshing notebooks has found its way into Sony VAIO X notebook, that almost gives the appearance of Apple’s MacBook Slim, due to its ultra thin edges and a streamlined design. A VAIO X owner has now successfully installed the Snow Leopard OS on the machine. With minor a minor setback, that of the non-functional Wifi. VAIO P which is the predecessor of VAIO X enabled the users to solve the Wifi problem by replacing the hardware. However, the VAIO X is an entirely different proposition, as the wifi card cannot be changed so easily due to the ultra compact design of the machines, that bunches the hardware too tightly.

At Insanely Mac forums, the user who has achieved this incredible feat has posted,

“I’m not sure is this post is in correct place; please move to proper forum if it’s not. I’m thinking before the VAIO P disk image sowhat may work on VAIO X since some components are the same. So I just try it. And that’s work! But as usual still some parts doesn’t work like WiFi; the point is VAIO X is too slim, everything is stick to the logicboard so we can’t replace the WiFi module like VAIO P.”
