Soundshelf: Shelve your Speakers for that Blend

Tired of staid black music system boxes that make up for sound surrounds? Wish you could turn them into something more useful? While such utilitarian designs are being developed across countries, Polish designers Witek Stefaniak and Anielka Zdanowicz have come up with speakers that need not be boringly boxed.

They have noticed how speakers get pushed away into corners of homes, with space use but no utility. Soundshelf, their design, merges the speaker into a functional piece in any room – in the form of a DVD rack, or simply a bookshelf, even a hanging one at that. Such a thought could well be the delight of interior designers who might want the solid pieces hidden away, even if in the form of functional designs.

As of now, the design is just a concept. But once it is developed, may be a hit with those looking for related usefulness among gadgets and accessories. More effort may also be needed towards the quality of sound from such a soundshelf. As for Soundshelf’s real strength, is its elegance in design and the thought behind it. Sound quality can always be worked at.
