Nils Völker has used the Lego Mindstorms NXT technology to create a weird ball. It can be operated using a Bluetooth controller and the ball would roll along. The robot actually does not have much purpose and would continue to roll along as long as you want wherever you want. Why would anyone want to keep a ball rolling is a question that is difficult to answer.

It is perfect for 12 year olds who would be amused by such trivialities. However, it could easily be mistaken for something damn futuristic and something intra-galactic. Only, it is a plain old ball that moves along using Bluetooth technology. The Spherical robot thus ceases to be an interesting product or design and makes you wonder why you bought it in the first place.

If you are wondering why this product is even being written about, it is always nice to know all the trivial and useless products that get manufactured in the name of robotics. If you are wondering how the damn thing works, you should watch the video which managed to put you to sleep within a matter of a minute.
