Ever tried sharing a room with four other guys where everything that you own is automatically considered as ‘shared property’ and the food that you bring in sometimes never even gets to your mouth? Yup, if you lived in a boarding facility in your college days, this would be an almost daily affair that you just learned to deal with. Stefan Buchberger, a design student at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, though would not really agree when you say that it is something you just have to ‘live with’. The marvelous little invention of Stefan is the Flatshare Fridge that sees like a set of stacked boxes on top of one another.

Much like a creation of Walt Disney rather than a serious designer in the contemporary world, the stacked fridge looks sporty, cool, retro to a degree and something that adds life and variety to the interiors of any room. Four separate units can be stacked up with one on top of another and one can expand even in the horizontal direction in a few of the cases. With customized skins, add-ons and hopefully separate locks for each one of them, the Flatshare Fridge will most likely be an instant hit the moment it goes commercial. Just hope Stefan applied for a patent!
Enjoy the really cool designs on offer…

I love this as an idea!! How great would this have been in college?!?! This way you never have to worry about your roommates eating your food!!
wow wow wow – i don’t know if i’ve every seen such a cool fridge as this!!! With one of these in the kitchen, the place will be an adventure land for the children. It doesn’t just look great but sure is useful for places with different people (like offices / dorms and for housemates). Plus you could store different types of foods in each compartment making it much easier to locate them. Just love it.
These are more like works of arts than simple refrigerators! Two thumbs up to this concept for me.
I wonder if you will be able to by these anywhere anytime soon?
Now that is what I call genius!! I thought I have seen all the refrigerators in the world but then I guess this proves me wrong? LOL
LOVED THIS ARTICLE!!!
