With the environment conservation drive at its peak, numerous companies are nowadays launching vehicles and other related products to cut down on the carbon emissions from conventional vehicles. These eco-friendly two and four wheelers are being hailed as the future of an environmental conscious automobile industry. Now, a Swedish firm, Höganäs has introduced an all new lightweight electric motor that has been designed and developed for light weight vehicles such as electric bicycles, scooters etc.

This all new lightweight motor draws its incredible performance from the advanced metal powder technology, that provides this unique motor with high performance and its lightweight design and the motor is said to provide a mileage of 75 kms between charges. This one of a kind electric motors from Höganäs was unveiled in Shanghai, China, which is one of the most lucrative markets for such electric bicycles, as they considered to be highly cost effective, when it comes to manufacturing and introduction into the markets.

With the metal powder technology, the metal is basically reduced in size, to that of tiny, individual particles and then are sent through the process of heating and injection-molding, so as to achieve the desired design parameters. The all new lightweight electric motor from Höganäs is said to be extremely eco-friendly, as the motor design can be easily recycled and is also known to use much less amounts of earth magnets and copper-wire.

According to Alrik Danielson (CEO, Höganäs Group),

“The e-bike motor is a good example of the Power of Powder. It is a highly efficient and very compact motor for direct drive applications. By combining high power per mass with a modular design, the motor is suitable for a wide range of applications in addition to electric bikes, such as scooters, other light electric vehicles, pumps, fans and generators.”
