Swine Flu and the Rude Indian

When the whole world is worried about the Swine Flu infections, Indians have been more than just worried. Most TV channels, newspapers, and all forms of media have devoted all time and space for the Swine Flu related coverage. The most important advice has been to maintain personal hygiene and cleanliness in order to avoid and prevent infections.

However, Indians might certainly be worried about catching Swine Flu, but they do not seem to be worried about not maintaining personal hygiene. In fact, hygiene is a term that bores most Indians to the core. One would be aghast to see mask-wearing, Swine Flu-scared people spitting all over the streets like there is no tomorrow.

Indian cities are full of spit stains and the walls are stained with urine and spit all along the streets. With this being the case of “personal hygiene” it is still a surprise that billions of people have not yet caught the infection. It would be a waste of time and space in media to speak about personal hygiene to ward off infections when people do not know the concept of Not-Spitting and Not-Urinating in public places.

Here is how Indians might want to attempt at staying clean.

Fully agree. Swine flu in India was a creation of the Indian TV channels to increase their TRP
