The chief executive of BP, Tony Hayward, is negotiating the terms of his resignation, whose formal announcement will be made within 24 hours, according to information obtained by the BBC.
Hayward was highly criticized by the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico after the outbreak of Deepwater Horizon platform in April.

Contrary to what PM Gordon Brown said, Justice Secretary Jack Straw admitted that the release to Libya of Abdelbaset al-Megrahi, otherwise known as the Lockerbie bomber, was ‘to facilitate a multi-million-dollar oil deal.’ There is an agreement between Libya and BP that had to be signed.
