Peace has eluded beautiful Swat valley for past two years. The once buzzing tourist spot became bloodied after two years of constant fighting between Taliban militants and Pakistani troops. Sri Lankan armed forces are making in roads into Tamil Tigers stronghold areas. Tamil Tigers have claimed that more that 250,000 civilians who want to live in rebel zones are seriously affected by the conflict. UN aid agency (UNICEF) has further claimed young children are mainly caught in the crossfire which is either killing them or injuring them seriously.

Gaza has been declared a humanitarian crisis. According to the Palestinian health ministry, the Israeli offensive has already incurred 595 lives, 195 of which are children.
