<p>Everyone knows by now how even magazines and newspapers have moving pictures in the gaming world. That’s completely normal and nothing interesting for the wizards but these magic-only concepts seem to be spilling over to the Muggle world more and more often. Now, even in the real world, seeing moving pictures in the magazine isn’t something very new.</p>
<p>CBS will be launching the September issue of Time Inc.’s <em>Entertainment Weekly</em> with a video ad in the magazine. The ad, made in collaboration with PepsiCo, will feature previews of the 2009-2010 TV season which would include hugely popular shows like the nerdy world of <em>Big Bang Theory</em>, and more. Stars of the show would also be the ones guiding you on how to use the video player which would start automatically the moment the magazine is opened. The video ad is displayed through a paper thin interactive video player inserted in the magazine.</p>
<p>Pepsi would be sponsoring the fall season of the Monday night comedies on CBS and advertising their Pepsi Max diet cola through the magazine. Video ads have been gaining popularity and this has been attempted before. CBS is also known for its creative advertising methods, having tried dairy and meat products earlier.</p>

A online and radio buzz was generated too.</p>
<p>This is literally spreading a word behind one’s back! It is a unique creative idea indeed. Rethink Communications has done good rethinking. Such human stunts always catch eye balls and the whole thing gets much attention and publicity. Once again it might be highly localized publicity but then there is online world to spread the word globally.</p>
<p>The campaign is highly product relevant. Also using hairy back and beach is the best way for selling wax. This man must have generated lot of curiosity. In fact the concept is highly witty too. Hope we see more such ‘Backvertising’. One need not just gossip behind the person’s back – one can spread a good word about products too without spending a lot of money on elaborate advertising.</p>

<p>One of the ways of creating good buzz is by doing something different or coming up with some offbeat concept for advertising campaign. Emirates Holidays has managed to do both in their new campaign which comes with a tag tine – Change Your View.  They actually changed the views from the windows of Dubai’s busy business center by putting huge landscape scene on window cleaner and let it move across various windows, surprising the office people inside. Nice way of telling people to take a break from same boring view and routine days!</p>
<p>The campaign may seem highly localized, targeting business people inside that particular Dubai’s business center. But that’s what viral marketing is all about. Create a buzz locally and let it spread through word-of-mouth, media and of course Internet and New Media. One need not have to put up huge screaming bill boards standing tall over city landscapes. Also local advertising may even bring down the cost of advertising in the times of recession.</p>
<p>It is a nice and creative ad concept by the agency Impact, BBDO, Dubai. During the times of recession business people inside those glass offices are most stressed and they do need a change of view!</p>

<p>Hilly terrains are the ideal terrain for four stroke vehicle campaigns. The agency, d4 comunicaciones, Guatemala which has created new campaign for Land Rover has done precisely that but the actual terrain for this tough vehicle is shown to be a good road winding through the hills.  So it doesn’t really live up to the tagline “Any Terrain is a Game”.  Yes, it does show the gradient and uphill and downhill challenges.</p>
<p>The copy is nice. The mountainous terrain and the awesome road are indeed tempting for adventurous souls and one would want to ‘go beyond’ as Land Rover’s logo says. But another drawback of the ad copy is there is no sign of the Land Rover on this road. Has it driven across the mountain? Or is daring to embark on the journey? Of course one can assign another meaning to the copy. Maybe they want to suggest that for Land Rover all terrains seem as smooth as these roads. Well, it does take effort to make sense of it all. But the meaning is not totally lost either.</p>
<p>These intriguing offbeat ads are nevertheless interesting!</p>

<p>Well, wooing kids is definitely more difficult than wooing adults. Levi’s Kids has come up with a series of imaginative print ads which will win hearts of the kids and their parents.</p>
<p>The agency BBH Asia Pacific, Singapore has done a series of prints depicting adorable Humpty, Miss Muffet, Jack and The Three Little Pigs in Levi’s Kids attire. These rhymes have universal appeal and rhyme book characters are every child’s friend. In fact nursery rhymes form the first creative imagery of every child.</p>
<p>The prints are creatively done with excellent imagery. The Humpty walking upright after fall in cool clothes is comical. It’s the ground which is cracked instead of Humpty’s skull! Yes, the ads will appeal to the tough kids and their parents.</p>
<p>Levi’s Kids is a big brand name and instead of making toddlers and kids as their models they have put their clothes and brand names on nursery book adorable characters. This is very innovative and creative campaign indeed.</p>
<p>This should encourage other brands too to avoid exploiting toddlers and kids for children clothing and accessories advertising campaign. Facing long hours of shoot under arc lights is not easy for kids. It is best to use children’s fairy tale and fantasy world heroes as models instead.</p>

<p>The ad it seems shows chocolate pouring from the sky in typical urban locales and taking shape of larger than life Sony products like digital SLR, handicam camcorder, PSP and even a laptop!! Creating a sequence of liquid chocolate pouring and finally molding into definite larger than life form and shape and that too gift wrapped, with an urban back drop must have been extremely challenging for the creators of this spot. The ad definitely goes with holiday mood of extravagance which includes buying thoughtful gifts for family and friends along with loads of chocolates and candies. Sony definitely hopes that gift ideas will take a form of one its products from a big interesting range of them!!!</p>
<p>This is probably not the first time Sony has come up with a surreal spot.  There was a <a href="http://trendsupdates.com/%e2%80%98inspired-design%e2%80%99-for-sony-cyber%e2%80%93shot/">similar one</a> showing molten metal taking form of a solid digital camera. They surely are inspired by surrealism which shows in their ads and hi-tech digital products!!!</p>

So instead of focusing on sports, athletes, sportsperson and other well-known brand ambassadors, the campaign shows people enjoying their daily run without worrying about shoes or shoe-bites. There are no faces from glamour or sports world for a change.</p>
