This can of course, once in a while, throw up some pretty audacious and down right crazy designs and the Flip-Flop Aperitivi is just the kind of thing that would allow you to talk a stroll on the borderline of wackiness. While most Havaianas might pretty much automatically double up as drink stands as they are flat, this one goes the extra yard (or rather the extra hole) to allow for a stable stand.

Designed by Tommaso Colia, this casual footwear allows you to not just sip into a cold drink with ease, but is also eco-friendly with their sole being woven from reeds. To be very honest these are nothing but comfortable flats with a small hole at the back and if walking on the white sands the whole day with the Aperitivi on and then using them as drink stands does not repel you are appeals to your sense of hygiene, then these just might be the thing for you… If and when they hit the stores that is!

Beer lovers have more reason to celebrate. Jacobsen Brew House has just launched the second edition of its Vintage trilogy and the Vintage No. 2 is being touted as one of the world’s most expensive beers.

Morten Ibsen, one of the five creators of Vintage No.2 claims that the Vintage trilogy intends to challenge luxury wines with what they have to offer. With only 600 bottles in production, each costing over 250 euro, the luxury beer may indeed take over from the select wines being sipped at posh locations the world over. According to Jacobsen, vintage No.2 is a Baltic Porter taking after the Imperial Stout originally made for the Russian Tsarina Katherine the Great in the 18thC. With an expiry date of 2059, the beer is ebony black in colour with a fragrance similar to tar and ropes.

Vintage No.2 is supposed to go well with sea food as well as chocolate and crème crème brûlée. Each bottle of Vintage No.2 has a hand stencilled print by Marco Evaristti. Do you have what it takes to become a ‘citizen of the pink state’?

Starting from the top, that splitting headache you wake up with is a result of dehydration since alcohol prevents the release of hormones that retain water in the body leading to overworking of the kidney. Alcohol also reduces the quality of sleeping ensuring you wake up tired no matter how long you’ve slept.

Adding to the troubled sleep is the fact that you don’t feel your best after that great night out; puffy, bloodshot eyes add to the depressed and irritable mood caused by a drop on blood-sugar level and mood-enhancing chemicals in the brain. What’s more, the body would have flown into an over-alert state during alcohol consumption to help counterattack its sedative effect which results in a hyperactive state long after you wake up. Alcohol also interferes with the biological clock sending the production of hormones haywire and thus resulting in heightened body temperature, abdominal pains, nausea and vomiting, heightened heart beat, sweating, muscle cramps and more dehydration.

The Halloween spirit can be made a little more horrifying with the help of a creepy drink prop.
