The tsunami triggered by a strong earthquake near the island of Sumatra, Indonesia, has killed at least 40 people and left 380 others missing, officials said this Tuesday, 26.
The death toll was expected to rise, since the authorities still seek victims of the earthquake and subsequent tsunami. The quake had a magnitude of 7.7 on the Richter scale.

Southern California and the Northern part of Mexico witnessed a powerful earthquake of 7.2 magnitude at 3.30 pm local time. The tremors were felt in Southern California, Arizona, Northern Mexico and even in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
