The number of users of the microblogging service Twitter just keeps growing. Created in 2006, the site has 145 million accounts, less than five months after reaching the mark of 100 million entries. Research company Nielsen Online has revealed that almost 60% of new visitors to Twitter fail to visit after a month. This suggests that Twitter is immensely popular but lacks the substance to create a loyal fan base or something that would keep the visitors attention for a span longer than just a month.
