There are designs that you know will sooner or later make it out into the market as they are useful enough and realistically possible to make the step up from the blueprint stage to the production scale. Then there are the others which you know will never come off of the drawing board as they are practically speaking complete impossibilities. As much as we love the Shweeb and think it is a great fun addition for any amusement park, it will remain just that and little else. The pedal-powered monorail has a series of capsules and each one of these accommodates a single rider who needs to pedal to make his way from one place to another.

As cool and fun as the ride in New Zealand’s Agroventures Adventure Park in Rotorua sounds, building such an individual based system on a large scale is a nightmare as one possibly cannot cater to each rider’s wish on an urban commuting level. But the bright point here seems to be the fact that maybe giant companies which have employees coming from their own company provided homes could install such railing for easy and emission-free commuting. A long shot, but still very much possible. Till then one can enjoy the Shweeb with a 3 lap ride costing $30 at the Agroventures Adventure Park.

They call it the ‘green’, but in all reality there is very little green and eco-friendly about golf. Golfers would obviously tell you that so is the case with most other sports and you will be compelled to agree with that, but why not make the fun recreation a bit more pleasant even to the planet! The bicycle-caddy does that in a kind of strange and weird way and to be honest; pedaling all that gear all the way across a golf course would take some leg strength. Aimed at apparently those who enjoy mixing cycling with golfing (maybe the likes of Lance Armstrong), the Caddy on couple of wheels is an innovative creation.

You could of course extend the bicycle caddy and use it for maybe gardening in a large estate; which seems the more practical application at this point. So rather than taking it out on the golfing green, it might serve you better on a beautiful day at a green ranch. Available for $199, it is a decently fine find for those who have both the time and the legs to make their way across the green in an emission-free fashion.
