The ReVerb iPod dock from Regen is probably one of the most humungous iPod docks available in the market today. It stands over 35 inches (90cms) in height. It comes with a back-lit LCD display and a photovoltaic panel that draws energy from the sun. It is not only its height that the ReVerb looks attractive but its features as well. It includes a 13.75 inches (35cms) by 19.7 inches (50cms) flat panel speaker along with stereo drivers and 6 inches by 9 inches sub-woofer.

Interestingly, the ReVerb is also eco-friendly. Its flat panel system has solar panels that can fully charge the battery when exposed to direct sunlight outdoors for 20 hours or direct sunlight indoors for 40 hours. When the battery if fully charged, it can provide power for playing loud music for 4.5 hours or 12 hours at a normal volume level.

Apple announced today in Cupertino its financial results for the third fiscal quarter of 2009, which finished September 26. The obtained income was of 9,87 billion dollars and the profit of the period was of US$1,67 billion. The result overcame the analysts’ expectation, that waited for income of US$9,2 billion. This was the most lucrative quarter of the history of the company.

The company sold more than 3 million Macs in the period, what represents an increase of 17% in amount of units sold in comparison with the equivalent period last year. The iPhone also grew: 7,4 million units sold in the period, an increase of 7% in relation to the already successful third quarter of 2008. The iPod, however, didn’t follow the same tendency: they were sold about 10 million units, a fall of 8% in relation to Q3 of 2008.

In spite of the times of caution in the economy and of their computers costing, in its majority, more than a thousand dollars, Apple also got to increase its portion in the market of computers for the largest market share in 15 years. The researches don’t arrive to the same number: Gartner indicates that Macs represents 8,8% of the market of computers, and IDC 9,4%. Anyway, is the largest participation of the market than Apple stops from 1994.

On the other hand, the iPhone, according to IDC, has 22% of the market smartphones in USA, behind just of BlackBerrys from Research In Motion, with 51%.

Besides the sales in discharge, the company also counted with an increase in its profits, from 34,7% in the last year to 36,6%. Being known that there were several price falls in Apple products, can be deduced that the company of Cupertino did get to dry their costs to the minimum.

If you were wondering if you could ever take pictures with the help of your iPod Nano, here comes the surprise. Apple has not only announced a camera that takes pictuers but it also takes videos! This could perhaps be a great step in making the flagging sales of iPod Nano get a boost.

The new iPod Nano comes with an FM Player, video camera, mic, speaker and a cool new large display which allows you to check out the song names. It also comes with a pedometer which means you would know how much you are walking or running. The 16GB version costs $179 and the 8GB one costs $149.

I would say, go grab it before it is too late and I am sure you would want to use this to take pictures of unsuspecting victims who would not know that iPod Nano can now take video and still images! It is amazing how Apple comes up with all these cool products, and there is no holding them back!

iPods started out as though small handheld gadgets that would play your music for you but then they started getting all sorts of cool additions making them a style statement that made you a nobody unless you owned one.

Rumours that Apple’s new line of iPods would feature cameras sent everyone into a dizzy and the excitement hasn’t been controlled since then. According to what we have all been hearing for the past few weeks, the iPod Touch would have a cam for photos and video while the iPod Nano would have a cam for photos only. Even as consumers wait with bated breath, the latest news isn’t very encouraging; rumours abound that Apple has been having problems in the production of the first dozen (or so) thousands of iPod Touch units.

The iPod Touch was expected to be launch at the much-awaited Apple event this Wednesday but the technical glitch would mean that the launch would be delayed. Apple has not released any statement yet confirming these rumours.
