E06SH by KDDI is a new cell phone released for business users, and manufactured by Sharp. The cell phone comes with a water proof body and thanks to the fingerprint authentication, you can rest assured that you would never lose any data to wrong hands. The cell phone has been released for a Japanese market and it looks amazingly rugged and strong.

The cell-phone would come with a barcode reader, a scanner, remote locking, Wi-fi, GPS, navigational features, and a 2MP camera, which in my opinion could have been better. There is no information about the price or availability but you can rest assured that this ph9one would be able to read all kinds f barcodes, and thus if you are making a huge shopping list, you would never have problems in the supermarket.

The cell phone is quite slim, and the aluminium body is slim and chic, and thus it also has a great aesthetic value, if you asked me. It would be interesting to see if the cell phone would be released in the West as well, as most Japanese brands never venture into the Western markets.

Mirumo 934SH is a cool new cell phone by Sharp for the Japanese market. The cell phone comes with an odd display of two sides, and it is water proof too. When the handset is open, you can use all the normal functions and when the handset is closed, you would get a low power consuming black and white screen with which you can play around with many apps and games.

The screen is being touted as unique as they use the memory liquid crystal, and thanks to which the cell phone uses very little power. This handset would be available only in Japan and if you are heading towards Tokyo, make sure you get one back home. This may also indicate what the future is like for cell phones in other parts of the world.

There is no information about its price, but you could expect it to be a higher end model, thanks to the sleek and chic design, and also the ground breaking technology which Sharp has used. The Mirumo 934SH comes in many different colours and you could choose the one that suits your mood the best.

Sometimes robotics is not all about high technology and ground breaking logarithms and science. It can be quite inane and even stupidly funny. Take for example this Robotic Sunflower developed by the University of Kyushu in Japan. The Sunflower comes with LED lights that light up if you wave your hands around it, in response.

Though the sunflower is of no importance and there is no apparent reason for the robotic sunflower’s existence, it gives yet another example about how people do not really care about either the robotic technology or what it is really all about. After a couple of minutes, I am very sure you will get bored of the whole deal, as it doesn’t do anything but light up at the presence of a person and then switch off.

At least, if the Robotic Sunflower helped in tracking or being a spy gadget, it would have been a cool device. Unfortunately, it does almost nothing. Nevertheless, it is a cute and stylish device which you could get for yourself and keep in the living room in order to entertain your guests when they are bored.

Before you ask, no, this isn’t a simple fluffy white pillow. It is anything but that, in fact. Just the mention of Japan would be enough to let you know that robotics have something to do with this innocent looking lump.

Strangely, the white ‘lump’ is a floor cleaning robot titled Fukitorimushi. The Fukitorimushi made its first appearance at the Tokyo Fiber Senseware expo held at Milan, Italy. Fukitorimushi, or the Wipe-Up Bug, was designed by Panasonic and has a covering of super-absorbent nanofiber cloth made by textile maker Tejin Ltd. The robot would crawl around the floor in worm-like fashion searching for dirt and cleansing everything that it scrapes against, returning to its charging station he moment its work is done. Apparently, the super cloth covering is sticky enough to collect the microscopic dust left over from vacuum cleaners.

There is no information yet on whether the robot is in production or how much it would cost if that happens. Interestingly, the makers of the product believe the task of having to change Fukitorimushi’s nanofiber dressing would lead to an emotional attachment between robot and human fibre. If Japan ever intends to accomplish that in the English speaking world, though, it may have to change the name of Fuki-whatever. Heck, just name your pet robot something simple like ‘Bob’.
