The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has come up with disturbing figures about the job market. The global recession could still cost the jobs of nearly 25 million people. The internet search engine giant, Google Inc. has begun to feel the ripple effect of the economic storm as well. As a measure to cut costs, 200 marketing and sales jobs are to be cut from its international operations.

IBM will cut as many as 5000 jobs in the United States this year, which will amount to over 4 percent of the total IBM’s workforce. Sources say that the job cuts will be administered mainly in the IBM’s global outsourcing and consulting services.

Cell phone maker, Nokia plans to cut 1,700 jobs due to the sluggish sales in al the global markets. The jobs cuts will affect the devices and markets, corporate development office and global support functions.
