This floor lamp designed by Sofian Tallal of France seems like an exotic plant in the rain forests to the looks. Embracing the shape of a plant with green metallic and plastic stems and a pair of leaves, the lamp reflects white light with a medium frequency using LED bulbs and radiance filters providing a soothing effect to the interior. The hanging switch cords pose as shimmering dew drops can switch both the lamps on and off. The larger leaf on the top gives away an affectionate orangey glow, while the lower smaller one rotates about a 250 degrees angle and can be used as a study lamp.

Lamps are those room accessories which establish the ambiance of the place, and if the same lamp is giving you a nature’s treat in your own living room or study room, what more would you ask for?

We have just discovered a new Sound Bulb coming all the way from the house of Armada, a famous studio in Slovenia. This Sound Bulb is different from the usual SoundBulbs and the Bulb-Sound-Speakers, which have the combination of light and sound. This one is a speaker that looks so much like a traditional light bulb. It comes with a standard thread, which the users can employ in any lampshade.

The most unique feature about this SoundBulb is its ability to shift from a work environment to an entertainment mode. To create this transformation, you must place the speaker in a lamp and turn it on to connect the receiver, which is already embedded in the Sound Bulb.

This will then help connect the receiver to a transmitter plugged in any musical player or PMP, iPod, PC, mobile phone, etc. Besides enclosing an LED diode, a transformer, a speaker and a wireless receiver, the sound bulb also combines the functions of a lamp and a speaker. Twan Verdonck, a Dutch designer, has come up with a rather bizarre but green idea. He has designed a growing light fixture called the Plamp. As the name suggests, this one is really a plant that grows around any energy saving lamp. The owner even has the option of trimming ii to dim or brighten the light as per his or her decor requirement.

Apparently, the Plamp is a work in progress. Verdonck could not easily finalize his design so took a lot of constructive green advice from the Internet. Some 65 feedbacks gave birth to the final pattern. Verdonck is extremely kicked about his creation for it’s always cool to grow your lamp that too the eco-friendly way!

The designer also feels that Plamp will encourage a lot of bonding between humans and nature for each day you would want to check on the progress of the plant on your lamp. And if it is of any encouragement, Verdonck’s Lemon Plamp recently gave him two delicious lemons too. What a groovy idea! You can check out the designer’s website for more ideas and inspiration. The idea is absurd and we really do wonder what must have inspired the brightbrain behind Verstecktbe Liebe sculptural lamp to think of it in the first place. C’mon, aren’t flashlights supposed to be carried? Who roams around with a lamp?

Well, we were surprised to learn that some folks actually dig the concept. They say it’s definitely out of the box with features of portability. Agreed, that Versteckte Liebe does look rather unique and weird, if we may say so.
