Typhoon Parma ripped and battered parts of Philippines and caused severe damage to life and property. This is second storm to hit Philippines in last eight days. The first one which even hit the capital Manila killed more than 288 people and affected more than 3 million people. It is said to be worst storm in last four decades.

The recently concluded conference on Climate Forcing of Geological and Geomorphological Hazards came up with the conclusion that ‘even slight changes in weather and climate can rip the planet’s crust apart, unleashing the furious might of volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and landslides.’
