The United Nations recently announced that internally-displaced persons (IDPs) in Sri Lanka, housed in refugee camps since the time they fled their homes during the final and fatal offensive against the LTTE, can now go back to their homes. Contrary to what PM Gordon Brown said, Justice Secretary Jack Straw admitted that the release to Libya of Abdelbaset al-Megrahi, otherwise known as the Lockerbie bomber, was ‘to facilitate a multi-million-dollar oil deal.’ There is an agreement between Libya and BP that had to be signed.
