Consumers are flooded everyday with different designs of cell phones. However, even though each one may be unique there is a sense of déjà vu when one is encountered with a new phone. It is very rarely that that a design as inspirational as this one surfaces, even though it is a concept.

Mac Funamizu’s concept designs of everything-and-what-not have always received much apprecaiation and his latest design of a cell phone is refreshingly innovative. The Gassy Glassy cell phone may not have such a cool name but it looks great. Made completely of trnsparant glass, the screen and keys becomes visible only when the phone is turned on. Unfortunately, Mac is way ahead of technology and the possibilities of seeing a phone of this stature is not very high in the near future.

The Glassy Glassy phone may not be very durable unless it is made of a thicker glass. However, by the time the necessary technology has been perfected perhaps we would also be blessed with glass that is as hard even without being too thick.

The whole ‘flaunt what you got on the inside’ revolution started with the ‘hood windows’ on cars and the gadgets that displayed all the wiring on the inside. They fact is that using glass for gadgets really makes them look outstandingly cool and that unique looks is something that cannot be captured by any other material or design. One must have some level of insanity and passion to actually brave that look though as it has its own perils. It seems Mac Funamizu is more than willing to take that risk.

Mac’s new mobile phone concept is called “Glassy Glassy” and it is indeed all glassy. We have come across many concepts with glass as part of gadgets before, but none are honestly this simple and attractive. This goes great with the minimalist movement that has come up in modern architecture and design. But the fact is that Glassy Glassy would be ‘broken broken’ into a million pieces in a day or two if we ever used t. Moreover, you will spend whole day cleaning your fingerprints on it! At this point Mac’s Glassy Glassy looks like “Shattered Dreams”.

Kudos to the thinking of Mac Funamizu that we now have a technology that elicits work out of us in lieu of providing a service. Pretty cool, huh! On top of that, this hand-grip charger comes handy for instant charging needs where AC outlets are not available. And what to say about eco-users like you and me!

Yet, there is a drawback. Many people will not have enough time to flex their muscles to charge their phones in this superfast world. Time is money in this century. But very soon, even that will not help us fight nature’s wrath in the time to come if we do not mend our ways.

LCD is a curious invention that still evokes quite a large amount of interest amongst inventors. But company inventors have been pulling their hair trying to invent an LCD screen that would create a more realistic 3D image.

As companies waste their time, Mac Funamizu has designed a phone with an LCD screen that gives a sense of depth and makes images appear more realistic. The screen consists of a double layer of LCDs placed together so that the overlapping of graphics giving it a sense of depth and making it appear as though the images are truly three dimensional. The concept phone looks extremely cool and would become a sensation overnight, merely for the design if not for the functions.
