One of the greatest hard rock and metal bands in the world, Metallica is all set to grace your iPhones with their all new Metallica iPhone application. Not only can you listen to the preloaded tracks, but best of all, you can actually take a shot at those guitar solos by Kirk Hammet, the ever invigorating rhythms from James Hetfield and the incredible drumming from Lars Ulrich on your iPhone and see for yourself, what it feels like to play heavy metal, Metallica style.

This all new Metallica iPhone app is called, “Tap Tap Revenge: Metallica.” Taking advantage of the iPhone’s extremely responsive touch sensitive screen, this all new iPhone app allows the users to play guitars, drums and bass guitar, in tune with the preloaded Metallica tracks in the application.

According to Metallica drummer, Lars Ulrich,

“It’s one more thing that’ll keep me semi-cool in my kids’ eyes for another six months until the next thing comes out. It’s not about the money or revenue or some master plan. This stuff all falls in the fun category.”

The application is available via Apple iTunes App Store and is priced at $4.99 and also includes the famous Metallica number, “Enter Sandman.” The recording label for Metallica, Warner Bros. have  speculated, that the iPhone application will be able to sell itself and in a short time, it could be featured in the Top 10 paid applications for Apple iPhone. According to Jack Isquith (Senior V.P, Warner Bros. Digital Music Division),

“We’re not expecting this to be some sort of golden miraculous thing that changes the economics of record labels. The main driver was to have it stand up to scrutiny from hardcore Metallica fans now. We think it’s a cool game.”

Despite having sold millions of records and cultivate fans around the world, the Kiss is not yet in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The honor, given annually to artists, producers, composers and even DJs who have contributed to the history of rock, not included in the list of candidates the legendary masked quartet for the prize in 2009.

Gene Simmons complained of exclusion. “There are groups of disco, of rapand Yiddish folk in the Rock Hall of Fame, but not Kiss,” said bassist in this Thursday (20).

“I think we have more disks of gold in America than any other group, but okay,” said the musician.

By had launched its first disc in 1974, Kiss complies with the requirements to enter at the hall as the foundation which promotes the award requires at least 25 years to launch the first single or album for an artist to be nominated.

The Kiss, however, is not on the list of nine competitors this year, which includes Metallica, the guitarist Jeff Beck and the soul singer Bobby Mack (is soul rock’n roll?).

The five honored will be elected by 500 personalities from the music industry and the winner will be announced in January, before the delivery of the prize ceremony on April 4, in Cleveland, Ohio, USA.
