The all new Microsoft Zune HD (High Definition) that is slated to be the biggest introduction in the portable media player market has is expected to give every such player a run for its money, due to the fact that Zune is running on the extremely high performance Nvidia multicore Tegra processor.

Zune has been integrated with Nvidia Tegra, that is composed with twin processor cores, where in the first processor, that is built on ARM11 core accommodates and run the operating system for the device and the other processor is Nvidia GeForce graphics chip.

Microsoft Zune will be available in the commercial markets from September 15, 2009, in five colors. The users will also be given an optional choice to incorporate a custom design at the back of the device. These designs have been created by guest artists, who Microsoft had especially hired for the Zune. The portable device features a OLED (organic light-emitting diode) and a web browser that supports multiple touch, among other features. Microsoft Zune will be available on pre-order bookings in the initial stages. The 16GB Black Zune is available for $219.99, with a 32 GB “Platinum” version is priced at $289.99.

According to Michael Rayfield (G.M. Nvidia Mobile Unit),

”We accelerate Flash, we have HD video, we do acceleration of rendering of Web pages on the GPU. The Zune HD will be an amazing showcase of what Tegra is capable of doing. There’s about 50 devices in design right now with Tegra.”

Gaming PCs are known to cause as much heat as a normal sized heater. In fact many people have begun to use gaming PCs for the combined effect of entertainment and heating. If you are however eco-conscious, you would certainly not appreciate such gross usage of computers and gaming products.

Maingear has launched a gaming PC called Pulse which is targeted especially at the eco conscious consumer. It is being touted as the world’s greenest PC ever and is also the world’s first computer with an upgradable NVIDIA Ion PC ever.

You could also upgrade it with a GeForce 9800 ECO video card. It draws 40% less power than 9800 GT though it is almost the same. The computer costs $799 and above. You could choose between either Intel Core 2 Duo processors or Intel Core 2 Quad parts. If you feel a little luxurious you could either buy a 8GB RAM or optional Blu-ray.

Gauge clusters of cars of today may not be something that anyone really gives a damn about but if NVIDIA and icon have their way, they will soon becomes a rage that everyone wants to get into.

Computer graphics company NVIDIA and icon are set to collaborate in the making of a 3D gauge cluster that looks super cool. The images her which are the proof of concept that the companies will be shelling out to automakers show the standard speedometer and fuel gauge. The gauge cluster will also display radio and navigation info. The images certainly look good enough for the concept to move into the manufacturing stage, but it would have to look better than this to compete with LCD displays with animation that other designers have come up with.

The evolution of cars has gotten to the stage where parts move on to the next stage individually, without waiting for the rest of the car to catch up. This piece will also be all digital, making conversions on the gauge cluster extremely easy.

CES 2009 saw a number of cellphones and TVs being announced today. However, gaming fans were slightly disappointed because of the lack of products dedicated to their needs. The answer came from NVIDIA, which unveiled 3D glasses.

The game that was on display was Left 4 Dead. NVIDIA’s gear combines innovative LCD monitor and graphics card and a pair of active glasses that cost $199. Most gamers may not be able to afford this package but it is nonetheless exciting and worth considering if you have some money stashed up.

It would be interesting to see which other products would be unveiled along with the package as the demand for gaming accessories is high. For now, we can choose to avoid the annoying shimmering effect on the glasses and concentrate on the awesome 3D effect delivered by the glasses.

This might just be the big daddy among eyewear. NVidia’s just come up with a unique offering that goes by the name of GeForce 3D Vision glasses. For starters, these 3D glasses are charged via USB and an IR emitter keeps everything in sync between the display and your glasses.

Good news is that you can use the GeForce with several games due to it’s high compatibilty. Try them on while at Left 4 Dead and WOW:Wotlk, just to name a few. By the way, CES had a demo and so far there have been no reports of any headaches or other side effects.

We think, it will make a good stereocopic 3D option. The price is affordable too. You need $399 for the display and $199 for the set. A little patience will soon have you get real close with all those gaming zombies. Also, did we tell you these are far from the nerdy 3D glasses of yore. Done up in a black frame with green on the stick edges, they actually look pretty cool.

One chip has 250 times the processing capacity of a standard PC, according to the company. The supercomputers – that looks like a conventional desktop – equipped with the technology are designed to use a traditional taken as a source of energy and are quiet enough to be on the table of the office, lists the Nvidia.

For now, the machines will be sold to researchers and universities. But the largest manufacturer of PCs in the world, Dell, has shown interest in taking the supermachines to the common user.

This new line of supercomputers is capable of dealing with tasks that require a number of simultaneous calculations so great that today are made by groups of machines that occupy one quarter and full cost 70,000 euros.

Among the likely uses, are searches in biological and medical areas, applications in the field of exploration of oil and gas, and calculations that could serve the aerospace engineering industry.
