Contrary to what PM Gordon Brown said, Justice Secretary Jack Straw admitted that the release to Libya of Abdelbaset al-Megrahi, otherwise known as the Lockerbie bomber, was ‘to facilitate a multi-million-dollar oil deal.’ There is an agreement between Libya and BP that had to be signed.
