If you are the kind of person who would go gaga over gaming consoles and video game products, you would know indispensable the PS3 Slim is right now. It perhaps might be one of the best consoles around and quite a good deal too.

However, designer Tai Chiem has designed a conceptual PS4 which is way too cool and certainly deserves a design award. He has also designed something called the Xbox 720, which is admittedly twice better than the usual Xbox 360. Bluetooth integration, plastic/glass backs and middles are some of the features you can expect to get with the conceptual console.

The stylish look and the almost futuristic design make the console look quite a tempting deal. The transparent body and the black central area make the PS4 appear quite stylish and Sony must take a hint from this and begin the PlayStation 4 production as soon as possible! Be it the Xbox 720 or PS4, Tai Chiem certainly knows what he is doing!

At the CES 2009, a number of gaming titles were also unveiled. The titles have been unveiled for PS3, Xbox 360 and even PC. Prototype has been unveiled for PS3, Xbox 360 and for the PC. Cazafantasmas: El Juego has been announced and may be released in June. The Dark Void has been announced for PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation and would be available in June 2009.

Halo Wars is another game that was doing the rounds in CES 2009 and may be available in March 2009. Red Alert 3 has been in news lately and more was made available at the CES 2009 and maybe available commercially in sometime.

Streetfighter IV and Godfather II were two other games announced and they would be available on PC, Xbox 360 and also on the PlayStation. More information will be available later, we hope.

1. Bioshock

We kick start the games with a look at Bioshock. The PC game has indeed won many fans over since the time of its release and that is largely due to intelligent mixture of combat-styled scenario, good old shooting and a very interesting sci-fi story line. The way you uncover the pieces of mystery is enthralling as you progress through it.

2. Braid

Released on the Xbox 360, Braid manages to capture your attention with a platform game where you must travel through six worlds to find and assemble jigsaws. Control is of the basic left-right-jump variety, and levels are made up of ladders, floating platforms and cannons that spit out whimsical enemies, deadly to the touch unless you jump on their head. You can rewind everything that you did by using ‘X’ making you sometimes wish the same could be done with life!

3. Fable 2

Another title that got pretty famous on the Xbox 360, despite Xbox itself losing out to Wii in a big way, Fable II provides gamers with an epic story and innovative real-time gameplay, including a massive amount of freedom and choice to explore a vast collection of dungeons, catacombs and caves in the world of Albion. This is about fighting the old and simple style with darkness, dungeons and even building a life along the way with the game.

4. Grand Theft Auto VI

Arguably the most impressive and the most well-received game of the year, Grand Theft Auto VI lived up to al the expectations riding on its shoulders and did a lot more than just that. By now everyone who knows anything about a virtual console and a thing or two about gaming knows what the Grand Theft Auto is all about, but this one still manages to woo audience over in a big way. Truly, the flag bearer for Xbox 360 in 2208.

5. LittleBigPlanet

PS3 might not have had an absolute scorcher of a year by any stretch of imagination, but LittleBigPlanet managed to hold its own in the crowd. Everything from your character to the environment is geared towards user creation and adaptation, via stickers and costumes right up to a full-blown level creator. Each level of the story mode is an unforgettable trip through the wild imagination of the designers, and it would be difficult to find a game that’s as much fun to play with friends co-operatively.

6. Metal Gear Solid 4

You will either love or hate PS3’s Metal Gear Solid 4 and there are no two ways about that. While some will love the over-dramatic movie theme that flows through the entire game, others will just hate the fact that they need to give up controls for movie sequences as they go along. As much as that is still a highly polarized view, there is no doubt that the look and the feel of the game are top notch.

7. Sins of Solar Empire

Our own personal favorite on the lists, this PC game is not for those who just are looking to have a good time for a couple of hours and then forget about their game altogether. Sins is a game with scores of complicated rules, plenty of things to constantly keep up with and while it relates to managing a whole galaxy in every sense of the word, it is to be expected. You need to really spend time with Sins, to ever be able to enjoy it.

8. Super Smash Bros. Brawl

The Wii game that was launched this year has been as popular as always and with cool new additions has only got a lot crazier than ever. Shields, evasive rolls, smash attacks and all manner of items add layer upon layer to potential strategies, until you’re left with an experience just as suited to championship level play as your Soul Caliburs and Tekkens.

9. World of Goo

This is all about putting the guns and destruction away as Wii challenges the intellect of the self-proclaimed masterminds of the gaming planet. Building tons of stuff, difficult structures and tackling new design and architectural challenges is the essence of the World of Goo. Of course, you do it in ‘Wii Style’ with various kinds of blobs instead of bricks!

10. World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King

If we were talking about the best games of 2008 and we left out WOW’s latest addition, then people would literally be stoning our peripherals. What can anyone say about the WOW series? It is no longer a game, rather is a cultural phenomenon. Either join the posse or come and experience how it feels like by stepping in once in a while. Here is another chance to step in though with Wrath of the Lich King.

While those were the games that stole the thunder in 2008, you could still be playing the first version of Mario that ever came and that is what is so cool about the gaming world. Everything is contemporary here and you are never in control. Surely many of you are kicking back on your couch, making sure that you get the title you wanted to always master on your Wii, Xbox, PS3 or even your PC and are preparing yourself for the holiday season. The whole ‘X-Games’ Phenomenon is really becoming a big thing with winter sports such as snowboarding really catching on in youngsters across the planet. Some of us though are less fortunate as we cannot experience the same thrill on natural slopes and are relegated to either artificial domes filled with snow or those cool Xbox and Wii games that offer much more fun than the artificial slopes. The Limited Edition Shaun White Snowboarding Game released by Target gives that special thrill to adventure-heads and does that in an exclusive fashion.

The Limited Edition release of Target has new features and special thrills that are not present in other version of this snowboarding down the slope. Targets exclusive version includes additional cut scenes and jibs. The Target version also comes with a special added slope to test your skills on and that is named pretty obviously as ‘Target Mountain’. The exclusive version also has a virtual version of the Target Chalet where the Target team stays during the Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado.

If you are using PSP, Xbox or even Wii, then the Target Version of the game is made for you. Though, if you still have not purchased a console, we strongly suggest Wii as it is still the best of the lot.

With the Nintendo Wii really knocking the holy hell out of every other gaming console, it seems that the likes of PS3 and Xbox 360 are more than willing to just play second fiddle. But more importantly, more and more of the new products and games are targeting the Wii audience specifically and while designer Mario Giordano intends his eBoard for balance techniques and rehab programs, it would still make an awesome add-on for skateboard and surfing lovers when they plug into their Wii console. The eBoard is all about hitting the waves without getting wet and jumping over the huge curves without getting hurt.

Just plug in the eBoard to your virtual reality console and get started with the experience of riding the virtual waves. The eBoard’s movement is based on gestural control and focused on balance and coordination training. eBOARD is a human adaptive system since it changes its status tracking your hands movement and balance status. The system is really a wonderful way to practice for a big competition without getting injured and also for the fitness freaks before hitting the big waves on their Hawaiian holiday!
