We have all read about what refrigerators do to our environment and what their contribution to environmental damage and global warming is. Refrigerators can speedup the process of global warming and increase the usage of power. The U.K. government has worked with is large companies and in order to reduce the amount of carbon emitted, the refrigerators may be installed with Dynamic Demand Technology which allows for the cutting of power supply to the refrigerators without the user’s knowledge.

This definitely infringes upon the user’s privacy and ways of lifestyle but the British government has an agenda to reduce 200 million tons of carbon being emitted by 2020. However, the government and the companies claim that the refrigerator with Dynamic Demand technology would not alter the taste of the food nor would they automatically defrost food without your knowledge.

How far this development will be successful, can only be assessed when the technology is used in real life. Moreover, consumers may protest about being intruded upon. Thus, we will as usual have to wait and watch to know what the outcomes of this new development will be.

The Cooper Cooler Rapid Beverage Chiller is an awesome gadget for those who their drinks cold. If you had wanted a quick fix for cooling and chilling your beer in a way that’s faster than freezing them in the refrigerator, this gadget is just for you. The gadget brings down the temperature of your beer to 43 degrees F in sixty seconds.

All you would need to do is fill the gadget with ice and water and the device starts to rotate with the can in, and thus reduce the temperature many times faster than a refrigerator. Apparently, the device is 40 times faster than a refrigerator in cooling. In fact, you could set it for ‘extra chill’ and cool it to 34 degrees which is just two notches above freezing.

The device works well with wine bottles too and would help you relax with a chilled drink in just under a minute. The Cooper Cooler Rapid Beverage Chiller costs $60 and is a great buy. Perhaps it is too late to buy one immediately for your New Year party as it would take more than 24 hours for guys at Amazon to get it to your doorstep.

It is always a mystery as to why designers and product launchers keep iPhone and iPod in their minds when creating new products. We have seen hundreds of speakers, chargers, and other such products all based on iPods or iPhones. Surprisingly this time, Slovenia’s Gorenje has come up with an iPod refrigerator. Planned to be launched in 2009, the fridge is going to feature iPod docks in the front and the back and play music and video at an amazingly great quality.

If you find that insufficient you could go ahead and browse the net as well. Gorenje plans to use the touch screen on the iPod as a remote control, which can control Gorenje’s other products and devices. Gorenje also plans to make use of wifi and create remote controls for the already wifi enabled ovens and dishwasher.

However, one may also need to be ready to spend ridiculous amounts of money, something close to 1,200 Euros. The silver lining is that you would get an iPod Touch with the package. Looks like iPods are never going to wean and wince, for an eager market always awaits products based on Apple’s coveted products.
