The day Google announced the Google Android mobile operating system, rumors and speculations started speeding across the internet about a possible Google phone. However, in recent statements, Google had refuted all speculations about a possible Google mobile device and had stated that, Google was keen and interested in only developing software and not hardware.

Now it seems, Google Inc. is finally planning on designing and developing a mobile phone after all. HTC had recently announced an all new mobile device, The Dragon, that was based entirely on the Google Android. Yet, the Dragon isn’t the Google phone that has every tech savvy user on his toes. According to sources, Google is in fact working feverishly on designing and developing an in house built mobile phone, that is expected to be relearned very soon and will be available for the consumers directly through retailers. The Google phone will be manufactured by a third party manufacturer, but will carry the brand logo of Google and is believed to be slated for release in the year 2010.

The new Google phone is believed to be dictated by Google’s terms and conditions and no compromises are expected to be made when it comes to the design and the functionality of the new device. There are also reports that either, Samsung or LG would be the prefigured manufactures of the Google phone. However, due to the fact that, Samsung is already involved in making parts for Apple iPhone, it could be possible that, Apple Inc. might prohibit Samsung from working for Google, thus leaving LG as a sole preferred supplier for Google phone.

The utterly popular and the most sought after Apple iPhone has finally been given the go ahead by South Korean regulators, paving its way for a South Korean launch, as early as the end of this month. The approval for the release of iPhone was unanimously agreed by the commissioners of the Korea Communications Commission.

Two of the biggest wireless network carriers in South Korea, KT Corp. and SK Telecom Co. have been in negotiations with Apple Inc. to implement the launch of Apple iPhone as soon as possible. The launch of the iPhone will especially be significant for the consumers, as the South Korean market is currently dominated by domestic electronic firms, Samsung and LG and the release of iPhone in the market will provide consumers with more options.

South Korea’s second biggest telecommunications entity, KT has not yet commented on the decision taken by the Korea Communications Commission, but has stated that it plans to release Apple iPhone as soon as possible. On the other hand, Apple Inc. is still reviewing its plans to launch the iPhone in South Korea and as of now, the decision of the company is still pending.

The Apple website providing the list of countries where the iPhone is expected to make its appearance does not include South Korea. However, according to the country’s media reports, KT is planning to take pre-orders of the Apple iPhone on the internet by November 28th,2009. The region has seen a boom of Apple iPhone with the launch of the device in China, India. Australia and Japan.

The South Korean government has given its approval to a free trade agreement, suggested by the government of India, that would allow both countries to greatly cut down on tariffs and enjoy a mutual financial relationship that would additional boost to the bursting economy of two of Asia’s leading economies. The vote on agreement was Seoul’s National Assembly and was unanimously passed with a vote count of 192-0, paving a way for strengthened economic ties.

For the last decade, the trade between India and South Korea has flourished greatly and has reached an astounding $15.6 billion as recorded for the year 2008. The latest trade pact, also known as the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement is expected to take further the already iron clad economic ties, between both countries. India is known to be the third largest economy in Asia, closely followed by South Korea in the fourth place. The latest agreement calls for a 90% tariff reduction on all imported goods in South Korea and a 85% tariff cut on all commodities imported in India.

The current trade agreement is being viewed as a boon, especially for South Korea, who has been long trying to enter in to a free trade relationship with India, that would prove invaluable to Seoul’s economy. Two of the vital sectors of South Korean economy namely, electronics and automobile with big names such as Hyundai and Samsung will now be able to operate more freely in India. Seoul has already entered into similar contracts with the United States and the European Union, pending ratifications.

At the FDP International convention currently being held in Japan, LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics have unveiled their latest line of display monitors, that have been designed to be transparent. The whole new range OLED see through displays vary from 2.67-inch to 20.7-inch.

However, one of the most attractive gadgets in the expo so far, has been the transparent AMOLED display from LG that has been attached to a computer running Windows 7 and displays ac calculator application and a fireworks scenery, while the contents behind the screen are clearly visible due to the transparency effect that has been set to a comfortable level of 30%.

The commercial availability and the proposed price of these see through display monitors hasn’t been disclosed or even decided yet. The display monitors are comprised of organic EL materials, that not only heighten their visual appeal, but also make them a first hand contender in the world of eco-friendly gadgets.

Both transparent displays sport a maximum pixel capacity of 176 x 220 (QCIF) and 141ppi, and the maximum luminance for these ingenuous display screens has been set at 300cd/m2 for top top emission and 100cd/m2 for the bottom emission.

One of the biggest manufacturers of LCD flat panel televisions and computer memory chips. Samsung electronics has announced that, it has designed and developed the world’s thinnest LED flat panel screen. Though, Samsung has not announced any launch date or any possible pricing details, still the all new LED flat panel screen, named, Needle Slim is already making heads turn and consumers are becoming anxious to get their hands on this product.

The Needle Slim is measured at a mere 3mm thickness and sports a 40 inch LED (Light emitting doide) screen. Inspite of such tiny specification, Samsung maintains, that the Needle Slim is going to be top of the line in high definition televisions.

In October last year, Samsung had launched the world’s slimmest LCD television and now an year later, the world’s slimmest LED television is all set to hit the market. LEDs consume far less energy and are more reliable than LCDs. However, LCD televisions are easily available and are quite inexpensive as well.

Samsung fans would be happy to hear that the company is planning on releasing an OLED laptop. Head of Worldwide Sales and Marketing for Samsung’s Computing division, Kyu Uhm, revealed that the new laptop would probably be out by the end of the next year.

The news was revealed during the official IFA launch of the X-Series and N-Series notebooks and netbooks. Samsung is already into the production of OLED screens and plans on using the technology in laptops as soon as it is available commercially. European Senior Product Manager Patrick Povel added that OLED notebooks would become the norm within the next five years. Meanwhile, the X-Series and N-Series are off to a great start, beign the perfect melange of style and efficacy that customers have come to need from their laptops.

By the time Samsung is able to bring out an OLED laptop they would be more than ready to do so, having already flaunted an OLED prototype notebook. The 12.1 inch laptop goes along the usual Samsung laptops and is sleek and extremely stylish. However, there’s no guarantee that the first Samsung OLED laptop would be the Samsung SDI.

If all goes well, Qualcomm will soon introduce an iPhone-sized Television called the Flo Personal Television. You can tune into broadcasts on Qualcomm’s FLO TV terrestial digital TV service. It is a cool thing to have a mobile digital TV like this one. Apparently, FLO TV has already reached out to Samsung, Motorola and LG so far giving the idea that you can get better bandwidth constrained 3G wireless network.

Mobile Digital TV is already doing rounds in the markets of South Korean and Japan, but unfortunately, there have been many buyers yet due to cost. If FLO TV is materialized and hits the commercial market, it will be a popular device. You will get better image quality and, above all, there won’t be network problem or buffering to deal with, which you may hate the most.

There is no information provided regarding its release date or price tag. I wonder why the release date for good devices is always delayed. I hope the FLO TV will not be very expensive and that it will be available within $250. This way, many will come forward to buy.

Now, there’s a lot that’s green in it, right!

As of now, the only cell phone based on AM-OLED technology currently available in the United States is Samsung Impression, which is currently available through AT&T.
